Background 

In 2020, Finte, a Technology Service company, embarked on an innovative project to improve internet access in the community. Recognizing the importance of equitable and affordable connectivity, Finte focused its efforts on developing custom applications using customized Mikrotik hotspot technology. The project runs until 2021 and has the main objective of making a positive contribution through the provision of free connectivity services.

Approach 

Finte carefully analyzed the internet-related needs of the community, conducted in-depth planning, and implemented customized Mikrotik hotspot technology. Application development was carried out using React Native technology, with user data management and network logs addressed through a MySQL database. FreeRadius authentication and authorization server is integrated to ensure wifi access security.

The development process also overcame various technical challenges, including hotspot proxy configuration and FreeRadius integration. The security and privacy of user data was a key focus, so that Finte could provide services that were not only equitable but also secure. This project has a positive impact on the community by providing free internet access more evenly, increasing digital inclusiveness, and creating a positive image for Finte as a technology service provider that cares about the needs of the community.

The Product Manager’s role in this project was key to its success. By setting the product development vision and strategy, managing the development team, and communicating effectively with various stakeholders, the Product Manager ensured that the project achieved the set goals within the deadline. Overall, this case study reflects Finte’s commitment to community empowerment through technological innovation, with the free connectivity application using Mikrotik hotspot as a concrete step towards greater digital inclusivity.
