Polban – Manage Services

Background

Politeknik Negeri Bandung (PNB) has taken a progressive step in facing the era of digital connectivity by starting the Manage Service project in 2018. The main focus of this project is the installation and management of 30 units of Unifi Access Point devices across campus. This decision was taken to meet the demand for better internet access and provide free Wi-Fi facilities to students, lecturers, and staff.

The presence of reliable and widespread Wi-Fi facilities is considered an important step in supporting learning, research and collaboration in an increasingly connected academic environment. At the same time, the project is expected to add significant value to the PNB community.

Approach

The project began with an in-depth analysis of connectivity needs at PNB. Identification of areas with high user density became the focus to determine the optimal installation location. The selection of Unifi Access Point devices was based on reliability, ease of management, and the ability to provide optimal Wi-Fi coverage across the campus.

Efficient service management is implemented to ensure maximum Wi-Fi availability. This involves proactive monitoring, regular maintenance, and quick response to potential issues. In addition, training and technical support are provided to IT staff at PNB to ensure their ability to manage and maintain the network.

The results of this Manage Service project are not only visible in the improvement of internet accessibility at PNB, but also provide a measurable positive impact. The entire campus community can now access Wi-Fi with ease, increasing productivity and facilitating online collaboration. The free Wi-Fi facilities provided are also a plus, creating a modern and connected campus environment.
